The Great Line Debate
This is quiet a contreversial subject, everyone has their favourites and everyone has their dislikes. But what makes a good line? is it breaking strain? Is it how supple the line is? Is it the diameiter. It can be a whole range of things. However never take what is printed on the spool at its full value. Tackle manfactuers LIE!! we have the proof below (the table is from www.tackleshop.co.uk) One of my favourites is the Daiwa Sensor line, Why? well i like how supple it is, i like the abrasion ristance it offers, i like the cost as well to be honest at about £7 a bulk spool i feel this offers real value for money. This line also suits the muddy holes i fish. If i was to fish a rough bottomed snaggy lake then i would be looking at somthing like Gardener GR80 as this has some serious qualities for that type of fishing. Now i said tackle manfactuers lie. Here is the proof look at the stated breaking strain and the actual, then look at the diameter then the true diameter. The chart below also shows results for flurocarbon and braid. We will go into the other type of lines in the near future CLICK HERE TO SEE THE RESULTS!!!! So next time your buying line, check this out first. Get the truth not a lie to sell you something. /* | |
