Albury Trout Fishery
Albury trout fishery consists of three separate day ticket venues in Surrey and Syon Park in London.
Powdermills fishery is situated in Blacksmiths Lane,Chilworth, off the A248 and consists of one 4 acre lake stocked with rainbows averaging 5lb up to over 10lb in weight, plus a section of the river Tillingbourne for browns in season.
Vale End Fishery is situated a little futher along the A248 and consists of two lakes and one pool, which is due to be amalgamated into the main lake, making two lakes in total.Stocking consists of rainbows and browns, average size 2.5lb with some bigger fish stocked and a section of the Tillingbourne, browns in season.
Further along the A248 lies Weston Fishery, with two lakes, one pool and small section of the Tillingbourne.Again rainbows and browns are stocked at an average weight of 2.5lbs but always a few big fish stocked.Main lake is around 5 acres.
Day ticket costs are £12 initially then £16 for two fish and £26 four fish. After first visit, cards are issued and the subsequent initial charge is £10 plus cost of fish tickets.Any unused tickets can be carried forward to next trip and are valid on all waters plus Syon Park.
Obviously as the lakes are day ticket fisheries they can get busy, but with plenty of water to go at,space can always be found without feeling cramped. All the lakes are natural, with trees and reed beds etc to be found and are either spring or stream fed,so some can colour up a little after heavy rain.
Most flies seem to work here, from dries through to lures. There is quite a good selection of natural fly life, from Damsels ,Alders and buzzers through to the occasional Mayfly.Sticklebacks are also present which make up part of the trouts diet along with the odd coarse fish that can enter via the streams.
All in all a very pleasant fishery with a fair ticketing system and usually frequented by a decent crowd who are often more than willing to share information and give advice if needed. There is no catch and release allowed at any of the venues but further tickets can be bought as required, with a minimum of four tickets to start the day.One ticket =I fish except Powdermills where two tickets are required for each fish retained.
